Manufacturing Engineer
Senior Manufacturing Engineer
Under the direction of the Plant Manager, incumbent will provide engineering support for production regarding product design and technical functions while optimizing current processes and also while introducing and developing new processes for continuous improvement of efficiencies and quality.
DUTIES:
o Assists Engineering Department with quotations for tooling and product development;
o Responsible for manufacturing processes and resolving technical problems with production;
o Works closely with production and quality to continuously improve the manufacturing processes and tooling;
o Implements problem solving and process improvement techniques;
o Monitors cost performance and coordinates improvements for assigned products;
o Reviews and revises manufacturing written work instructions
o Participates in engineering meetings as required by customers;
o Supervises the documentation of files, logs, and records of projects as they relate to quality, product and engineering issues;
o Manage various new product and capital programs;
o Performs time studies;
o Performs other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
o Any combination of experience/education equivalent to a Bachelor Degree in Engineering and five years of progressive experience in a manufacturing setting, preferably a machining or assembly operation;
o Knowledge of tool building and design, layouts, cycle times, quoting procedures; assembly procedures;
o Ability to implement progressive manufacturing processes;
o Organizational skills contributive to functioning in a multi-service department;
o Ability to work with IBM compatible computer and appropriate software as well as other hardware structures; CAD and CAD/CAM proficiency desirable;
o Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals;
o Understanding of various test methods utilized for inspection and survey of sample products;
o Familiarity with ISO requirements and processes.
Incumbent under general direction is expected to provide support in areas of product design, quality, and organization where the guidelines may be obscure or non-existent. Because of the broad nature and complexity of the assigned work, innovative approaches must be developed and utilized in dealing with current problems and future developments.
Manufacturing Engineer will provide engineering and quality expertise, developing data and reports, and maintaining optimal technical relationships. The position provides technical support to the entire operation. General objectives are indicated through the formulation of strategic and operational plans for the company.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
